Sodomite Elected As Bishop In Episcopal Church!
By Garner Ted Armstrong
Unbelievably, the Episcopal Church, in its General Convention on Tuesday, August 6, voted to approve their first “openly gay Bishop,” against the anguished advice of dissenters who said their “grief was too much for words.” I can well imagine!
The so-called “Rev.” V. Gene Robinson, whose ex-wife and daughter support his homosexual life style, was confirmed as “Bishop of the Diocese of New Hampshire.”
A major split will probably occur, as would be expected, if there remain any in the Episcopal Church who believe in the Bible instead of multi-culturalism, nihilism, and hedonism.
When the happy, smiling sodomite was interviewed on Fox Cable News, he averred that, “Christ included all groups,” in his defense of his “life style.”
Those who support the “gay” Bishop, including the Bishop himself, frequently argued that Christ “reached out” even to “prostitutes,” and others who were not acceptable to society.
He also referred to how the church had “changed” to meet more “modern standards,” citing how the church had embraced blacks as a result of the Civil Rights movement, and women, who may now preach, and enter the priesthood of the church.
Did Christ mean to include prostitutes, trans-sexuals, sodomites, sado-masochists, lesbians, and all assorted forms of deviates into His church?
In one famous example, the Pharisees brought to Jesus Christ a woman taken in the very act of adultery, to see how He would judge her. Here is the Biblical account: “And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
“They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
“Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
“This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
“So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
“And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
“And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
“When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
“She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more” (John 8:3-11).
Many important points come to light in this occasion. First, they brought only the woman and not her male partner in adultery. Some have attempted wry humor, alleging that it was easier for the man to escape. Yet, because of the ensuing events, one cannot help but wonder if the Pharisees allowed the man to escape, and captured the woman, instead.
Notice that Christ wrote on the ground, either with His finger, or perhaps a convenient stick. He interrupted his busy writing to challenge any of them who were “without sin” to be the first to cast a stone!
He then began writing again. Following their rigid hierarchy, the eldest to the youngest stooped down, looked over His shoulder, and saw what He was writing.
Was it linking names? This is the only likely scenario!
No doubt the posturing Pharisees were themselves guilty of the very sin of which they accused the woman! Christ no doubt wrote the names of the women with whom they had sinned; perhaps even linking names, such as “Judas and Beth,” “Zecharias and Martha,” and so on.
The outcome demands such a logical conclusion!
Each Pharisee, his face no doubt burning with anger and shame, haughtily spun on his heel and left!
What would have been the attitude of the woman?
First, there was the shock, fear, and shame of being caught in the very act of adultery!
Then, there was the horror of knowing she was to be stoned to death – the fear she experienced as they conveyed her to Jesus. There was the downcast, frightened shame of standing there, surrounded by all those men, and having to see the face of the One she knew they were calling the Messiah, knowing that, upon His word, she would be dragged away, and stoned to death!
Jesus Christ saw her expression; her shame; her remorse. He saw repentance in her actions and her voice.
But Jesus Christ did not condone what she had done!
Instead, He said he would not CONDEMN her (to stoning!), and said sternly, yet kindly, “Go, and SIN NO MORE!”
Did Christ “reach out” to this adulteress IN HER SIN? Did He invite her to become a “member of His church?” Does this passage indicate that Christ was busily “reaching out, wanting to include all groups; all life styles, in His church?” No, He told her to FORSAKE her sin – to go, and live her life FREE from adultery!
Christ, Who wrote the Ten Commandments with His own finger (read John 1, and Hebrews 1), said, “Thou shalt not commit adultery!” (Exodus 20:14). Adultery is SIN. John wrote, “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law” (1 John 3:4).
While Christ died to SAVE SINNERS, He did not die to save them IN their sins, but FROM their sins! There is a vast difference!
Peter cried out on the Day of Pentecost, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission [forgiveness] of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38). To repent means to be deeply contrite; sorrowful; ashamed; filled with self-disgust. It also means to CHANGE; to “turn around and go the other way!”
Jesus Christ inspired the apostle Paul to write about homosexuality, which is soundly CONDEMNED in the Bible: “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold [Greek: “kataballo,” meaning “hold back,” or “suppress”] the truth in unrighteousness;
“Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them.
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen [by studying the workmanship of His hands; His creation!], being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
“And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
“And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet." (Romans 1:18-27)
When I expounded this passage on my television program several years ago, I was thrown off a major television cable channel! CENSORSHIP had occurred! Gone was my right of religious expression; my right of free speech! To expound and explain SCRIPTURES ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY was A GREAT OFFENSE to some in the station management!
Today, I am being MUZZLED by some in the media! As Christ predicted, PERSECUTION is coming! I shudder to think what will happen to God’s church and His work if and when ultra‑liberals such as an Al Gore or Hillary Clinton become President!
Even today, with a conservative Republican government in charge, I dare not speak out as God commands against sodomy, one of the most filthy, disgusting, perverted acts of mankind over some of the electronic media!
But on my own web site, and in my publications, I WILL NOT BE MUZZLED!
The human anus is a septic exit for the elimination of fecal matter! It is an EXIT, not an ENTRY! The practice of sodomy has brought upon homosexuals a host of venereal diseases!
Bestiality and sodomy are the direct cause of the rampant, deadly AIDS, just as God said!
He said, “...and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.”
Translated into modern English, that says they are receiving the natural consequences of their SIN,” the fitting punishments for their filthy, disgusting perversions!
Here is what God did to the aggressive, predatory, perverted sodomites in Sodom and Gomorrah: “And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
“And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
“And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
“But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
“And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them [old KJV language, meaning they wanted to commit sodomy!].
“And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
“And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
“Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
“And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.
“But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.
“And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
“And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
“For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
“And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
“And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
“And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
“And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
“And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:
“Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast showed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
“Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
“And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.
“Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
“The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
“Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
“And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
“But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
“And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:
“And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace [it must have looked like the pictures of Hiroshima after the dropping of the first Atomic bomb – a gigantic, mushrooming cloud soaring into the skies].
“And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.
“And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters” (Genesis 19:1-30). Archaeologists say there are visible remnants of what appear to be stone walls and foundations in the shallow end of the Dead Sea. Over the centuries, the waters of the Jordan have gradually caused the Dead Sea to extend southward for some distance. A sign on the road between Jerusalem and Eilat, along the western side of the Dead Sea which I have seen reads “Sedim.” One can see colorful sections of mineral salts being collected there.
Sodom did not become perverted overnight.
It may have taken decades – even two or three generations – for the whole city to become so perverted that only Lot was found righteous before God. His wife became calloused to the actions of the Sodomites. She longed for their life in the city, and, even though forcibly rescued by God’s angels, so her life would be spared, she disobeyed God’s command, and looked back, longingly, toward the city she was leaving.
She was instantly turned into a pillar of salt!
Centuries later, Jesus Christ said, “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
“They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
“Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded [the Sodomites had adopted an acceptable “alternative lifestyle,” and the “gays” who lived together busily went about their lives as if they were completely acceptable; living in homes, tending gardens, tending shops].
“But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
“Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
“In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
“Remember Lot's wife.
“Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it” (Luke 17:26-33). Jesus issued this warning to those who become inured to the perversions around them; those who, while they might not approve of everything their neighbors do, nevertheless do not speak out against it!
Today, World Net Daily released information from pollster Scott Rasmussen that found that up to 27 percent of the population believe same-sex “marriages” should be permitted!
While 66 percent of adults “believe marriages should be only between a man and a woman,” when all the age groups were considered, the pollster said, “
