EU will Surpass NATO's Power

The European Union (EU) will reportedly surpass the power of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and decrease its capability by having more involvement in Europe in future years.

A US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) report reads, "The foundation with the highest priority for Europe will be the EU before it will be NATO. Because of this, Europeans will draw their path in the world in terms of this channel." Think tanks of the CIA and the National Intelligence Council point out that it was unclear whether the EU would form an army, as "forming an army will double the forces of the NATO or make NATO dysfunctional."
