India is expected to overtake China’s population sometime around April and only widen that gap by 2050. Experts say that while having a young working population could prove a huge advantage, significant challenges of providing quality healthcare, education and jobs remain
India will soon overtake China as the world’s most populous nation.
Though the momentous occasion is slated to occur sometime around April, debate has already begun whether this will be a help or hindrance to India in the long term.
This comes months after the United Nations confirmed in November that the world population touched the historic number of 8 billion people.

According to New Indian Express, India currently has 1.39 billion people compared to China’s 1.41 billion.
India is also adding 86,000 to its population daily as against China’s 49,400.
