Weekly Update by Mark Armstrong – April 4, 2025

Greetings from Tyler,

Trump has got everybody running for cover.   We thought we were going to have to watch this country go down the tubes! We were just hoping we wouldn’t be here to see it. That’s all changed now.

All over the world they’re jumping around, suddenly willing to negotiate.

The news is trying to make us feel bad. Illegals are being thrown out of hotels. They thought they had it made. There will be sob stories, enough to break your heart. We’ve been supporting illegal third world people for ever.

If you’ve ever traveled and seen how the rest of the world lives you’d know better. The rest of the world has strange customs and bad plumbing, but they must love living in the United States, especially at our expense. I think that’s just about over.

The mainstream is furious!  There are all kinds of articles from mainstream sources trying to drum up controversy. People who were self-righteously driving around in their battery cars are now attacking Tesla dealerships. Don’t they know there are cameras? Carving a swastika into a Tesla? Elon is disgusted and so are we. I never liked this “save the planet” stuff, but it never occurred to me to go a dealership that sells Teslas and vandalize cars. The people who did that are facing long prison sentences, and we don’t mind.

For the last forty years we’ve been looking to the end of America, and some power to rise up in Europe. That’s obviously still going to happen. Maybe there will be some miscalculation that gets us in trouble. The Stock Market fell nearly 2200 points today. But everything is getting reoriented. There is an article, several now, that say Trump doesn’t care about the short-term. He’s got financial experts, and obviously trusts them. You can’t go by the first thing that comes out of Trump’s mouth. He may just be gaining position.

I wondered how the part about making Canada a state would go over.  Apparently its not going over well, and who could blame the Canadians?  But the trade situation isn’t fair, and Trump’s going to straighten it out.

The big concerns now are the wars without end. We want peace, prosperity. Is that too much to ask? Sometimes you’re dealing with people who don’t have a full deck. You’d have to go over there to see what I mean, but you’d see it. They’ve got arguments learned, and you just have to shake your head, for all the wrong reasons. You have to wonder what’s going to happen to those who are attacking ships in the Red Sea. Trump doesn’t suffer fools lightly.

But who knows? This may be what causes Europe to unite. Granted, they look like they don’t grasp what’s going on, and they probably don’t. They’ve got geniuses in top level meetings and we don’t know what’s up their sleeve. But I can wait.

I don’t know about you, but I think God looked down and in His mercy decided that we get another chance. How else do you explain it?
