Weekly Update by Mark Armstrong – December 13, 2024

Greetings from Tyler,

Everybody’s concerned about the drones.  You mean our military command can’t figure it out?  People who should know claim to be baffled.  We can come up with explanations, but none quite satisfy.  For now, unbelievably, the government is playing dumb.  It must be something we’re not supposed to know.  I can’t wait until somebody shoots one down.

The big news this week is Syria.  Bashir Assad has fled to Russia, leaving behind his possessions which have already been ransacked by the local population.  The regime of some six decades has been toppled.  This has to have repercussions for Russia and Iran.  Russia operates a base on the Mediterranean coast and Iran was seen to be an ally of Syria.  The State Police have melted away after years of control.  Prisons are being emptied.

Russia’s attention on the Ukraine war and Israel’s routing of the terrorists led to Assad’s allies being thwarted on other fronts.  From the videos available, it seems the people of Syria are ecstatic.  There is no doubt Assad led with an iron fist, and the people are happy to be out from under the constant threat.  Thousands of people are congregating, celebrating Assad’s exit.  The place is now under “rebel control.”  They’re going to try to have an orderly transition.  We’ll see.

Suddenly Zelensky is talking about winding the war in Ukraine down.  After thousands have been killed on both sides, a truce?  Russia has brought in North Korean soldiers to help.

We’re celebrating the Trump effect.  Finally, a leader we can be proud of.  You notice, it’s gone awfully quiet on the left.  Former critics are beating a path to Mar-a-Lago and celebrations are going on.  Justin Trudeau is probably sorry he ran down there.  Trump joked about buying Canada and letting him be the governor.  Not to get carried away.

Trump’s picks to fill cabinet posts are enough to make you do the dance.  Some are having trouble, and others make us happy.  Recent years have led us to believe the government is our enemy.  They’re the last ones you’d want coming after you for anything.  Maybe that’s about to change.

Pete Hegseth is hoping to get confirmed, running all over Capitol Hill meeting with important people.  If Kash Patel is confirmed to head the FBI, and he’s expected to be, oh baby.  It’s been a mystery forever.

Apparently, much that has been hidden from the American people is going to be revealed.  I hope they don’t do it all at once.  There’s only so much you can take in, and this stuff has been going on a long time.  Maybe we’ll find out some of the things that have had us baffled.  Maybe some of the conspiracy talk will be verified or quelled.  We’ll see.

Here at home, things are looking up.  The whole world has gotten the message that Donald Trump is going to be president, and I think they’re jealous.
